About Us/History
In early 2009, the Meyersdale Borough Council created a Task Force to address economic issues in the community.
The initial group included business leaders, Borough representatives and concerned citizens. The group held “brain-storming”
sessions to address the needs of the community and to identify ways to improve Meyersdale. The Task Force held open public
meetings to gain input from citizens. The group met weekly, for nearly a year, before formally organizing as the Meyersdale
Area Merchants Association.
