Who We Are

The Meyersdale Area Merchants Association is a group of "forward-thinking" and "business minded" individuals. "This is a positive group of people who look at the problems facing us and find solutions and move forward," Melissa Friend, Association President stated.

One of the first projects of the Merchants Association was the formation and continued support of the Maple City Farmers Market. In the summer of 2009, the Maple City Farmers Market opened for its first season with great success. Organizers are confident they will surpass the sales, over $40,000, enjoyed in its inaugural season.

The primary focus of the Merchants Association is promoting business, old and new. The newly formed group will continue the efforts of improving our community. It is our goal to instill "Think Local, Buy Local, and Dine Local" in the minds of all community members. If we remember to buy local, 68 cents of every dollar goes back to the community.

The Meyersdale Merchants Association meets at 8:00 a.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at the White House Restaurant. The meetings are open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend.
